Why fabric weight matters
A heavyweight shirt changes both the hand feel and the way a print presents. Fat Penguin uses 230G and 250G compact-siro cotton options because the tighter, smoother face supports clean DTG detail while keeping the garment substantial. Weight alone is not a quality score: yarn, knit, wash treatment, color, and the actual size specification all affect the result.
Our product pages publish the factory-backed fabric, garment weight range, colors, and measurements. Use those measurements instead of assuming two shirts with the same letter size will fit alike.
230G versus 250G
The 230G compact-siro shirt is the broadest everyday option, including black and white with sizes extending to 5XL where factory inventory supports them. The 250G style has a denser, heavier feel and a more limited catalog. Snow-washed styles add visual texture, so color and wash variation are part of the garment rather than a printing defect.
For artwork with small type, gradients, or edge detail, start with a high-resolution transparent file and review the on-garment preview. Production placement is derived from the same canonical design geometry; it is not redrawn by a generative image model.
